AVOID BUYING OUTWELL:
Following purchase of one faulty Outwell tent (in excess of £790) from Yeomansoutdoors (UK) who refused to refund nor initially replace

I contacted Outwell. Outwell never actually responded to my letters, although they were sent recorded delivery to both the UK and Denmark head offices, (Outwell & Oase Outdoors).
Therefore I conclusively conclude Outwell (aka Oase Outdoors) give no concern to their customers following sale of their products. Needless to say Aren sons Henrik Aren (apointed Managing Director in 2004) is only concerned about sales and not customer satisfaction nor customer service. They leave the customer service to the tertiary company.

In this case Yeomans outdoors who as a company provide appalling customer service.

Although the Tent in question may be good the level of support provided by both Outwell (Oase Outdoors) and Yeomansoutdoors is shockingly low. If you decide (despite my warning) to purchace an Outwell product avoid Yeomansoutdoors. Shop elsewhere, for example Go Outdoors (who no quibble replace/refund faulty products).

Just read these reviews and have to say we purchased an Outwell Hartford XL six years ago in 2005, and its been the best tent we've ever had. Its been through gale force winds in Anglesea and torrential rain in Conwy, and has never leaked or broken. Every year we keep thinking we need to waterproof it, but havent done so far and its still going strong.

Hopefully the other 2 reviews are just pure unlucky, as I would recommend our Outwell to anyone.

Just spent £840 on an Outwell Maryland XL package deal from and internet supplier, used it 3 times and it has leaked every time, supplier has just taken it back and are going to "test" it with a high power hose, cant see them being able to replicate the three days of solid rain it just had on our last outing! The supplier say it is meant to be weathered but if you read Outwells FAQ page it clearly states that their tents do not need to be weathered at all......who's telling the truth? It is made from sealed seam 5000mm HH material, this should not leak at all.....probably made in China by someone earning $1 a day who does not care if it leaks or not.......were gutted. Dont know weather to have another Maryland or another Outwell tent ,maybe a vermont or just have our money back, other than the fact it leaks it's a great tent!! anyone else had a leaky Outwell?

Hi, we bought the outwell oakland xl thinking we were buying one of the best makes of tents, what a disapointment. We where camping in Cumbria in the early hours of the morning it became very windy in a matter of a hour our metal poles of the tent had broken resulting in our tent being destroyed, we where left with nothing more than a damaged canvas what we stood up in and all poles broken. we were using storm pegs so dont know what more we could of done. Outwell is impossable to contact the store said we are not covered for storm damage, but to me this is a manufaturing falt DO NOT BUY A OUTWELL TENT other couple that had the outwell montana had the same problem and their tent was destroyed also
